Newbies Help Newsletter  -   Dated 13 November 2007  ♦  Issue # 741
The theme of today's newsletter is Time Management

Hi [[firstname]],

Welcome to all the new members who joined our group during this last week.
The past week has been a frustrating one in that one of the tasks that I set myself was to sort out the files of products that I have on the hard drive of my PC. I was amazed at what I found - and I thought I was being thorough in filing and reviewing everything that I downloaded from the Internet. So, I decided to write a series of articles to try to make you aware of the problems and assist you in keeping track of what you have got. Today is Part one of the series.

A short break for this weeks first sponsor. I have bought this and am currently working with it to generate ads. When I have information, I will give you a first hand look at what it is doing for me, and what it can do for you.

This week's Article
Title - Time and space management on your PC – Part 1 – What have you stored on your PC hard drive?

In my re-evaluation of my business I decided to first clean out the dead wood on my hard drive as the weekly virus and Adware/Malware scan were taking an eternity to complete due to the number of files. If you think about it, there is no wonder that you load up your hard drive very quickly as any download that you make is duplicated in as much as you get a zip file which you expand to the component files which are the product that you got. It doesn’t matter whether the product is free or not, the same applies. Do you need both versions? – Of course not, but do you delete the zip file once you have extracted all the files from it? The answer is – probably not.

I have been looking through the many product files that I have on my computer hard drive and I was amazed at how many there were and how many I’d forgotten about. I think we all tend to buy a product, look at it briefly before setting it aside for a detailed review at a more convenient time. How often have you done that? What happens is that you forget about it and don’t get back to check it all out properly. Actually when I finished relocating all the product files into one overall directory I was shocked to count in excess of 2500 products that I had done nothing with, other than cast a cursory glance at them after downloading them. These were products I’d bought, or picked up as bonuses, or at the free seasonal give-aways, as well as the free reports/Ebooks issued to me through email lists that I belong to.

Our second sponsor this week needs your support also. This package is well worth taking a look at.

Over the last year I have tried several methods to try to reduce the number of “forgotten products” that I have on my PC. I even looked for some product that would help me control the problem. I found nothing suitable to my needs. Oh, yes, there were products available that would partly do what I needed, but they were more in line with organizing many aspects of data for a working Internet business – and of course a little expensive. What I needed was only a very small part of the product offered and the rest of it was not really suited to my needs.

I decided that it was up to me to control what and how I downloaded to my PC. Really, it was not that difficult. In the series of articles that follow this one I will detail the steps that I took to take control of the products on my PC.

The next article in this series will be on downloading the products to your hard drive.

I hope that this week's issue was of interest to you, and maybe you found something that would be helpful in your own business. If so, I would appreciate any feedback you may have so that I can align future content to better suit your needs. Send them to newsletter@newbieshelp.com

Sincerely,
