Newbies Help Newsletter  -   Dated 23 Oct 2007  ♦  Issue # 738
The theme of today's newsletter is Niche Marketing

Hi [[firstname]],

Welcome to all the new members who joined our group during this last week.
During the last four weeks anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. My travel plans were totally changed and ended up at 5 weeks instead of two. They were my problems and I apologize for the delay in issuing the newsletter.
As of today we are still issuing the newsletter in its original format, but it will be revised within the next few weeks. More on that next week.

While I was away I have decided to revamp my website and to review and re=shape my business. I have completed the business side of the review and generated the revised short, medium and some long term goals to meet the new schedule.
While doing this I decided to document the process and issue it in sections in the newsletter as well as the blog.

Today I will try to go through the reasons for the review and re-appraisal of the business models I have been using.

This week's contents:

  1. Dave Guidon's Videos
  2. This week's article entitled "Business and Personal goals are not cast in concrete"
  3. Widget Ad Generator

1. Dave's Online Videos

Here's the plain truth ... Dave Guindon has recorded TONS of full video series teaching you how to basically start from nothing and work your way to making cash online.
For example, he recorded 11 FULL videos showing how he purchased the resale rights to a software product, designed an auction template and sold it on eBay!, and this is only a small part of the hundreds of hours of videos available. And ... he plans on adding TONS more videos to the member's area EVERY month.
It's a first class product and I highly recommend you take a look and see the range of topics covered at:

2. This week's article

A successful Internet business requires constant review and fine tuning to continue to be profitable. The business as a whole should be re-evaluated at least once a year as the year end approaches and a new year begins. This entails a review and adjustment of the business plan as well as the business goals as well as the personal goals. It doesn't matter which reason requires you to re-evaluate your plan, whether you are starting, just changing course, or simply expanding your business horizons, the basic principles remain the same.

Your first task will be to look at the objectives or goals for the business and list all the financial targets to achieve those goals. Obviously they will not all be achievable in the first year of business, but you must realistically set your financial targets in the short term (up to one year), in the medium term (from one to three years), and the long term.(Longer than three years.)

The next task will be to look at the business model that you will use to meet the financial targets and therefore achieve the goals. This is the most difficult task when starting a business, but there are many business models to choose from. E.g. Affiliate Marketing, Selling Resell Rights Products, Membership sites, Network Marketing, Auctions, Creating your own products, ..... and many more. If you are realigning your business plan then multiple income streams from multiple business models become a necessity to continue growing the business and it's profits.

Next you need to thoroughly look at one business model that will best serve your needs to make the profits needed. There are many ways of promoting a product within each of the models listed above. E.g. An affiliate product could be promoted through advertising in several mediums - Google Adwords, Ezine ads, Classified Ads, on your website as a banner or text link. The one you choose will be best suited to your financial situation. The important thing is to choose one model to start with - a model that you are comfortable with, then when your product is launched and proving to sell well, then look at another product and possibly another model.

Now is the time to look at budgets and costs. Lets assume you decide on the affiliate marketing model and a product, sale value $50 with a 50% commission. Again assume the promotion method is Adwords, then set a Cost Per Click of 25 cents. Assume a 3% conversion rate at the Product Sales page - now do the math to see what it takes to achieve your goals. Ask yourself if the goals are realistic or not, or whether you need to retain 100% of the sale price instead of giving away 50% to the Affiliate product owner.
This is where you will need to be realistic with your feet firmly on the ground. Do not set the goals too high otherwise it may become impossible to achieve them and the result could undermine your confidence and severely affect your enthusiasm to succeed.

You may well decide on another model, but you must do the math to see that what you have set as your goals are achievable. In carrying out this mathematical exercise you will be defining and setting many of the parameters that affect the end result and you will be able to monitor compliance of all the parameters to ensure success. Doing the review thoroughly will only improve the profitability of your Internet business.

3. Widget Ad Generator

You've heard of Adsense, well here is another similar advertising program which is similar to Adsense, but you have total control over the adverts displayed on your site. The adverts can be for anything, but they are best suited to affiliate adverts, or your own products adverts. I have just bought this script but have not put it to work as yet. I will be doing so and will give you a review of my thoughts on the product in a future issue of this newsletter. If you are interested take a look at:

I hope that this week's issue was of interest to you, and maybe you found something that would be helpful in your own business. If so, I would appreciate any feedback you may have so that I can align future content to better suit your needs. Send them to newsletter@newbieshelp.com
