1. This week's article
So, you have decided to try your hand at article marketing to try to drive some traffic to your website. It is one of the most rewarding methods of traffic generation if done properly.
There are many items of software and tools available today to help create articles, some of which create gibberish, others that create semi gibberish. Don't misunderstand, some of these tools, if used in the knowledge of their limitations, can prove to be helpful in creating the bare essentials of your article. Until a computer can think and create something from a blank screen, you are the writer and the editor and must ensure the article is readable, interesting, as well as ensuring it is correct with respect to spelling and grammar.
Some common mistakes that are made by many writers when setting up to market an article are outlined below:
- Ensuring that the article reads smoothly from the start to the finish.
One thing that is essential when you want to write an article of any kind and that is to plan out the article, or create a skeleton for the article. There are many books available on what should be included in your article, but it most definitely needs continuity from the start through to the finish. It needs an Introduction, a suggestion for your consideration, the pros and cons of the suggestion, followed by the conclusion. The individual sections can be called anything you want, but there must be a flow from start to finish.
- Forgetting the reason that you are writing the article.
There is only one reason that you are writing the article and that is to provide your reader with good quality information. You may well have ulterior motives for submitting the article to article directories and the like, to get some traffic from your links in your resource box as well as establish higher rankings in the search engines. If the article is not interesting to your readers then they will never reach your resource box and click on your link. You must also remember that many article directories will refuse to publish your article if they deem it of poor quality.
- Not taking advantage of the promotional opportunity available.
Not only the resource box link will bring visitors. Placing keywords within the article in strategic places will afford you a better chance of getting search engine traffic. Since the article directories in general do not allow anchor text links, or links of any kind within the article itself, that keyword placement is very important.
- Publishing content that does not help your readers.
If you are thinking that all the article is intended for is to generate visitors to your website through the resource box link, without any thought of the subject matter - think again. The article needs to have a subject relevant to your business theme. Writing about horses with a link back to your dog grooming website isn't going to work. Not all article directories are going to accept your content automatically. Oftentimes, they have some guidelines and specifications on the articles that they are accepting.
In order to ensure success it is very important to remember that the plan needs to be formulated around your objective for writing this article. In other words, why are you writing this article? Obviously it is to submit to article directories, announcement lists, or Ezine directories. Write the articles that publishers want in their publications if you want your article marketing to work the most effective way for you.

- A tool that helps get the article skeleton developed
Instant Article Wizard is a software tool for creating lists of sentences taken form a huge library of articles - in excess of 240,000, based on the keyword that you entered for the main subject. It also does the same for keywords on subtopics. The result is a large list of related sentences that you then select from and create the framework of your article. When you do this for the sub topics as well it creates quite a reasonable article to work with.
You then have to knead it into shape and take care of the grammar and spelling, until you finally end up with an article that has good content and reads well from start to finish. If you are at all afraid of writing articles, this will help you get started. Just take a look and see how Jonathan demonstrates how to create articles in as little as 15 minutes, even with little or no knowledge of the subject. Check it out at:

- A tool that makes article research simple
A great little tool that I have used for some time now is called Sonic Snooper. It is a software that you use on your desktop and it searches for websites that are optimized for the keyword that you have entered. You can review each website and if you find some information that may be useful as a basis for content for articles, your own site, or a report, etc., you highlight the section and then drag it into a box at the bottom of the page. You can add as many selections as you require, and when finished, it is saved as a text file. The data includes the url for the website and the data that you copied across. It is very simple to use and has saved me many hours in gathering data. Check it out at:

- A source of top quality PLR articles on most any subject
One of the best sources for Private Label Rights (PLR) Articles is a membership site called Infogoround.com. There are a very large selection of PLR Articles on almost any subject that you could think of. There are a wealth of other PLR and Resale Rights products available for you to use in your business. One of the beauties of this site is that if you are in to writing your own articles you can submit one per month, and if accepted, you will get your monthly fee waived, and the site becomes free for you to use for that month. I believe it is well worth the monthly fee, or article, and you should really check out what is available:

- This week's tip. -
The great thing with email marketing is that you can easily measure how effective your sales message is. That's because everything is trackable.
If your leads don't open your email, that means you need a more attention-grabbing subject line.
If they open your email but don't click through to your sales page, you need more compelling copy in your email.
If they click through to your sales page but don't take action, then the problem is with your web site.
You develop a chain of events that you can track every step of the way, so you can discover which links are weakest and work to make them stronger. You end up being able to spend your time more efficiently and effectively, because you know exactly where to focus your efforts.
